Sustained-release tablet: Avoid taking other cough medicines simultaneously, because it may lead to accumulation of bronchial secretions in the lungs. The patient should inform the doctor or pharmacist before use if they are taking, or has recently taken, any regular medicine on prescription or over-the-counter products.
Syrup: It is not known whether butamirate affects the way other medicines work or whether butamirate is affected by other medicines.
