Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: In vitro immunohistochemical and biophysical procedures could show an inhibition of the internalisation of β2 receptors by α-hederin. Animal experiments showed a spasmolytic effect. A secretolytic effect is supposed to be triggered by stimulation of the gastric mucosa by reflectorial stimulation of the bronchial mucous glands via sensorical parasympatholytic fibres.
