The active substance is Ivy leaves dry extract.
100 ml liquid contain 0.7 g ivy leaves dry extract (5-7.5:1).
Extractive agent: Ethanol 30% (w/w).
Prospan Cough Syrup contains a herbal active substance. Owing to this herbal extract, Prospan Cough Syrup may occasionally appear slightly cloudy or taste slightly different. This does not have any effect, however, on the quality of the product.
An important term for describing the quality of extracts is the so-called "Drug to Extract Ratio" (DER). A DER of 5-7.5:1 means that 1 part extract is made from 5-7.5 parts drugs.
Prospan Cough Syrup is free from gluten.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Potassium sorbate (Ph. Eur.) (preservative), anhydrous citric acid (Ph. Eur.), xanthan gum, cherry flavour, sorbitol solution 70% (crystallising) (Ph. Eur.), purified water.
2.5 ml liquid contain 0.963 g of the sugar substitute sorbitol (Ph. Eur.) = 0.08 BU.
