Per 0.5 mL Inactivated poliovirus Type 1 15 D-antigen u, Type 2 45 D-antigen u, & Type 3 45 D-antigen u, Sabin strain
Indications/Uses
Active immunization of infants ≥2 mth & childn against Type 1, 2 & 3 polioviruses for prevention of poliomyelitis caused by poliovirus Type 1, 2, & 3.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM Inj in the middle anterolateral thigh for infants & deltoid for childn. Infant 2-4 mth Give inj as primary vaccination, 18 mth Give inj as booster dose.
Contraindications
History of allergic reaction to vaccine or similar vaccines. Patients suffering from acute & serious chronic diseases, acute attack of chronic diseases, fever, uncontrolled epilepsy or other ongoing nervous system diseases.
Special Precautions
Reactions to previous dose of vaccine or similar product; severe anaphylactic reaction following vaccination. Not to be inj into the blood vessel. Patients w/ blood (thrombocytopenia) or clotting disorders; immune deficiency. Concomitant use w/ corticosteroids, cytotoxic drugs, RT, or any other treatments likely to weaken immune defenses. Observe patients for at least 30 min on site after inj. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Fever (≥37.1°C), diarrhea. Nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, abnormal activity level; redness, swelling, induration.
