Pregnancy: When pregnancy is detected, CoAprovel should be discontinued as soon as possible (see Warnings).
Lactation: Irbesartan is excreted in the milk of lactating rats. It is not known whether irbesartan or its metabolites are excreted in human milk. Hydrochlorothiazide is excreted in human breast milk. Thiazides in high doses causing intense diuresis can inhibit the milk production. The use of CoAprovel during breastfeeding is not recommended. Because of the potential risk to the infant, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of CoAprovel to the therapy of the mother.
