CoAprovel is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to irbesartan, sulfonamide derived drugs (eg, thiazides), or to any other component of the CoAprovel formulation. In general, hypersensitivity reactions are more likely to occur in patients with a history of allergy or bronchial asthma. CoAprovel is contraindicated in patients who are anuric.
Do not co-administer CoAprovel with aliskiren-containing medicines in patients with diabetes or with moderate to severe renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate [GFR] <60 mL/min/1.73 m2).
Do not co-administer CoAprovel with Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitors (ACEIs) in patients with diabetic nephropathy.
