When it must not be used: If the patient is allergic to iodine or povidone or any of the ingredients of this product (refer under Description); If the patient has a thyroid problem; If the patient is about to receive or is currently receiving radioactive iodine therapy; If the patient is using products containing mercury such as thiomersal; In children under 1 year of age.
