Indications/Uses
Relief of throat chapping, pain, swelling, discomfort & hoarseness caused by inflammation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Spray several times daily, every 3-4 hr while breathing out.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Thyroid problem. Patients to receive or are currently receiving radioactive iodine therapy; use of Hg-containing products eg, thiomersal. Childn <1 yr.
Special Precautions
History of drug-induced hypersensitivity. Discontinue use if local irritation or sensitivity occurs. Severe oral mucosa erosion. Patients received radioactive iodine treatments w/in last 4 wk & using before any diagnostic test. May interfere w/ thyroid function tests; perform scintigram at least 1-2 wk interval at end of treatment. May produce false +ve results in several blood detection tests in faeces or urine. Not to be used concomitantly w/ enzymatic component-, hydrogen peroxide-, silver-, octenidine-, taurolidine-, Hg-containing products; alkali, tannic acid, ASA, bismuth salts. Renal impairment. Not recommended during pregnancy & lactation. Childn 1-6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Cough, irritation, redness, swelling, small blisters, itching, tiredness, weakness, confusion, rapid shallow breathing, passing little or no urine, fluid retention, swelling of legs, ankle & feet.
Drug Interactions
Altered effect w/ other externally applied wound healing medicines/prep.
