Each ml of Inf Oph Eye Drops contains Prednisolone Acetate 10 mg (1.0%).
Prednisolone Acetate is a synthetic corticosteroid and is used by topical application in inflammatory of the eye. It has a local anti-inflammatory action which is approximately 3-5 times greater than that of hydrocortisone. It decreases inflammation by inhibit phospholipase A2 and the chemotactic migration of leukocytes into the focus of inflammation.
For treatment of acute or chronic non-infected conjunctivitis, allergic inflammatory processes of the eyelid, cornea, and anterior segment of the globe, eg allergic conjunctivitis, iritis, irido cyclitis, choroiditis, optic neuritis, symphatetic opthalmia, corneal injury (from chemical, radiation, thermal burns or foreign body penetration), scar-prevention in eye surgery and eye injuries.
Shake the bottle well and instill 1-2 drops topically into the conjunctival sac(s) 4-6 times a day.
Tuberculosis of the eye; fungal disease of the eye; acute herpes simplex, vaccinia, varicella, and most other viral disease of the cornea and conjunctiva; hypersensitivity to Prednisolone Acetate; acute untreated purulent ocular infections.
Do not let the dropping nozzle (tip) contact with anything eg. fingers, eyeball, eyelash, eyelids, etc., as the germs may contaminated the content. Always replace the cap immediately after use.
Do not use longer than 1 month after first opening.
Prolonged use of corticosteroid may result in increase intraocular pressure, glaucoma, damage of the optic nerve, defects in visual acuity and fields of vision, posterior subcapsular cataract formation.
Increased intraocular pressure (Magnitude of increase depends on corticosteroid used, frequency, duration and concentration of administration), open angle glaucoma, optic nerve damage, defects in visual acuity and field of vision may occur, secondary infections, perforation of the globe, cataract formation.
