Indications/Uses
Relieves pain & inflammation caused by OA, shoulder inflammation, tendonitis/tendon sheath inflammation, humeral epicondylitis tendon sheath (including pain on the outside of elbow), muscle pain (including muscle, vascular & external lower back pain), swelling & pain after injury.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply to painful area once daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. History of aspirin-induced asthma. Pregnancy (3rd trimester).
Special Precautions
Discontinue use immediately if adverse skin reaction occurs. Not to be used in patients who develop asthma, hives or swelling & irritation inside the nose after taking aspirin or any other NSAIDs. Not to be applied on broken skin, wounds, infected skin or soft tissues; skin affected by exudative dermatitis or eczema. Avoid use in patients w/ active peptic ulcer or GI bleeding; liver or kidney disease or those w/ liver or renal impairment. Increased risk of platelet, CV & circulatory system abnormalities w/ prolonged use. May mask signs of skin infection. Patients w/ bronchial asthma. Adequately monitor patients while on treatment. Use concomitantly w/ antibiotics or antifungals, as appropriate, when used on inflamed & infected areas. Avoid use during pregnancy, especially in the last trimester, or in patients who may be pregnant; breastfeeding. Ductus arteriosus constriction in infants whose mothers received other transdermal non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics during 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Not to be used in childn <15 yr. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Acute allergic reactions including urticaria, angioedema-like swelling & dyspnea. Contact dermatitis or light sensitivity-induced skin reactions eg, rash, redness, itchiness, irritation, pain, pigmentation, rough skin & increased skin exfoliation at application site.
Drug Interactions
May induce seizures w/ enoxacin (quinolone).
