Eperisone HCl
Indications/Uses
Muscle relaxant for improvement of myotonic symptoms eg, in cervical syndrome, shoulder periarthritis, lumbago. Spastic paralysis caused by cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, sequela of trauma (spinal & head injury), spinal vascular disorders & other encephalomyelopathies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Muscle relaxant 1 tab tid. Spastic paralysis 1-2 tab tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if fever, erythema, blistering, itching, ocular congestion or stomatitis occur. Hypersensitivity reactions including rash & pruritus, anaphylaxis; SJS & TEN. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery due to CNS depression. Hepatic impairment. Pregnancy. Discontinue lactation during treatment. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Fatigue, headache, insomnia, numbness of extremities; skin rash; hot flash, increased thirst; abdominal pain, anorexia, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, stomach discomfort, vomiting. SJS, TEN.
Drug Interactions
Avoid concomitant use w/ nasal azelastine, orphenadrine, oxomemazine, paraldehyde & thalidomide. Increased effect/toxicity of ethyl alcohol, opioid analgesics, nasal azelastine, blonanserin, buprenorphine, CNS depressants, flunitrazepam, QTc-prolonging agents (moderate & highest risk), hydrocodone, methocarbamol, methotrimeprazine, metyrosine, mirtazapine, orphenadrine, oxycodone, paraldehyde, piribedil, pramipexole, ropinirole, rotigotine, SSRIs, suvorexant, thalidomide, zolpidem. Increased levels/effects w/ topical brimonidine, cannabis, chlormethiazole, chlorphenesin carbamate, topical dimethindene, doxylamine, dronabinol, droperidol, hydroxyzine, kava kava, lofexidine, Mg sulfate, methotrimeprazine, mifepristone, minocycline, nabilone, oxomemazine, perampanel, rufinamide, Na oxybate, tapentadol, tetrahydrocannabinol, trimeprazine.
