Salbutamol.
Description
Each 1 teaspoon (5 mL) contains: Salbutamol (as sulphate) 2 mg.
Sugar-free, No alcohol.
Indications/Uses
For the relief of bronchospasm in Bronchial asthma, Chronic bronchitis and Emphysema.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adults: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) three or four times daily.
If adequate bronchodilatation is not obtained each single dose may be gradually increased to as much as 4 teaspoonfuls (20 mL).
In elderly patients or in those know to be unusually sensitive to beta-adrenergic stimulant drugs, it is advisable to initiate treatment with 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) three or four times daily.
Children: 2-6 years: ½-1 teaspoonful (2.5-5 mL), three or four times daily.
6-12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) , three or four times daily.
Over 12 years: 1-2 teaspoonfuls (5-10 mL), three or four times daily.
Contraindications
BRONCHOSOL is contraindicated in patients with history of hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Special Precautions
BRONCHOSOL should be administered cautiously to patients suffering from thyrotoxicosis.

Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Unnecessary administration of drugs during the first trimester of pregnancy is undesirable.
As salbutamol is probably secreted in breast milk, its use in nursing mothers is not recommended.
Side Effects
A fine tremor of skeletal muscle may occur in some patients, small increase in heart rate and headaches have been reported. Muscle cramps, hypokalaemia may occur.
Storage
Store below 30°C. Protect from light.
