Indications/Uses
Postprandial fullness, upper abdominal bloating, & early satiation in patients w/ functional dyspepsia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
No effect against pain & burning sensation in epigastric region associated w/ functional dyspepsia. Consider upper GI tract endoscopy along w/ other tests if symptoms persist. Pregnancy & lactation. Ped patients.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea, constipation; increased ALT, AST & γ-GTP; increased blood prolactin & triglyceride.
Drug Interactions
May inhibit effects w/ anticholinergic drugs eg, atropine, scopolamine butylbromide. Enhanced effects w/ choline activators & cholinesterase inhibitors eg, acetylcholine Cl, neostigmine Br.
