Indications/Uses
Zobrixol SR cap/tab/infant oral drops/Zobrixol DS syr Relief of cough caused by acute & chronic disorder of the resp tract accompanied w/ thick & sticky mucus eg, acute & chronic bronchitis, asthmatoid bronchitis & bronchial asthma. Zobrixol syr Acute & chronic diseases of the resp tract associated w/ abnormal bronchial secretions particularly in exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis & bronchial asthma.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Zobrixol SR cap Adult & childn >12 yr 1 cap once daily. Zobrixol tab Adult & childn >12 yr 1 tab tid for the 1st 2-3 days & then 1 tab bid or ½ tab tid. Childn 6-12 yr ½ tab bid-tid. Zobrixol syr Childn 5-10 yr 5 mL tid, 2-5 yr 2.5 mL tid. Zobrixol infant oral drops Childn 13-24 mth 1.25 mL bid, 7-12 mth 1 mL bid, ≤6 mth 0.5 mL bid. Zobrixol DS syr Adult & childn >12 yr 5 mL tid for 2-3 days & then 5 mL bid or 2.5 mL tid. Childn 6-12 yr 2.5 mL bid-tid.

Overdosage
View Zobrixol/Zobrixol DS overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Administration
Zobrixol SR cap Should be taken with food. Take immediately after meals w/ plenty of liqd. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush. Zobrixol tab/infant oral drops/Zobrixol DS syr Should be taken with food. Zobrixol syr May be taken with or without food. Drink glass of water after administration & plenty of liqd during the day.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions
Zobrixol SR cap/tab/infant oral drops/Zobrixol DS syr Not recommended during the 1st 3 mth of pregnancy. Zobrixol syr Patients w/ cough for a long time; asthma or suffering from serious asthma attacks; present or past liver or kidney problems; peptic or duodenal ulcers. Not recommended during pregnancy (especially during the 1st 3 mth) & if patient is breast-feeding.

Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances eg, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting. Zobrixol SR cap/tab/infant oral drops/Zobrixol DS syr Transient rise in serum aminotransferase. Zobrixol syr Headache, polyuria, & fatigue.

Drug Interactions
Zobrixol SR cap/tab/infant oral drops/Zobrixol DS syr Not to be taken simultaneously w/ antitussive (eg, codeine) due to potential non-expectoration of phlegm or mucus previously liquified by Zobrixol. Zobrixol syr Expectoration of liquefied bronchial mucus may be impaired w/ antitussives. Increased conc of amoxicillin, cefuroxime & erythromycin in bronchial secretions & sputum.
