Ciprofloxacin lactate

Indications/Uses

Mild to moderate lower resp tract, skin & skin structure, bone & joint & GI infection; septicemia, endocarditis; UTI.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 100-400 mg bid may be given by IV infusion over 30-60 min in a conc of 1-2 mg/mL. Acute exacerbation of cystic fibrosis associated w/ Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection Adolescent & childn >5 yr 10 mg/kg may be given by IV infusion for 60 min tid. Max: 400 mg tid.

Special Precautions

Convulsions; patients w/ known or suspected CNS disorders eg, severe cerebral arteriosclerosis, epilepsy & other factors that predispose to seizures. Avoid alkalinity of the urine. Maintain adequate hydration. Renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn & adolescents (<18 yr).

Adverse Reactions
