Pelargonium sidoides DC root
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of common cold.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1 cap tid. Duration: Not to exceed 7 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Not to be taken by patients w/ history of liver damage or disease. Not to be taken by patients who are pregnant or & breastfeeding. Not for use in childn <18 yr.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if signs of liver toxicity (eg, stomach pain, nausea & vomiting, dark-colored urine, light-colored stool, yellowing of skin & eyes) occur. May worsen symptoms of autoimmune disease eg, RA or SLE. Patients taking other medicines on a regular basis including complementary or traditional medicines.
Adverse Reactions
Very rarely, mild digestive tract-related complaints (eg, diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea or vomiting, & difficulty of swallowing), mild nose or gum bleeding, & allergic reactions.
