Pregnancy: Montelukast tablets have not been studied in pregnant women. Montelukast tablets should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. During worldwide marketing experience, congenital limb defects have been rarely reported in the offspring of women being treated with Montelukast tablets during pregnancy. Most of these women were also taking other asthma medications during their pregnancy. A causal relationship between these events and Montelukast tablets has not been established.
Nursing Mothers: It is not known if Montelukast tablets are excreted in human milk. Because many medicines are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when Montelukast tablets are given to a nursing mother.
