Description
Each capsule contains: Thiamine mononitrate (Vit. B1) 200 mg, Pyridoxine HCl (Vit. B6) 50 mg, Cyanocobalamin (Vit. B12) 500 mcg, Folic acid 5 mg.
Folic acid, Thiamine (B1), Pyridoxine (B6) and Cyanocobalamin (B12) are members of the Vitamin B Group. All are essential co-factors for various metabolic processes including the synthesis of purine and pyrimidine nucleotides and hence in the synthesis of DNA. Thiamine is primarily involved in energy production in the body, especially in the brain. Vitamin B6 is particularly important in the formation of body proteins and structural compounds. Folic acid, also known as folate, is essential in cell division and DNA synthesis. Vitamin B12 is involved in many body processes and works very closely with folic acid. Folic acid and Vitamin B12 help cells to multiply and are important co-factors for the remethylation of homocysteine to methionine, hence in lowering plasma homocysteine levels. Vitamin B6 serves as co-factor in the conversion of homocysteine into cysteine and eventually into glutathione along the transulfuration pathway, thereby lowering plasma homocysteine levels.
