Contraindications
Diltiazem is contraindicated in patients: With hypersensitivity to any component of this medication; With sick sinus syndrome, except in the presence of a functioning ventricular pacemaker; With second- or third-degree AV block, except in the presence of a functioning ventricular pacemaker; With hypotension (less than 90 mmHg systolic); With acute myocardial infarction; With pulmonary congestion documented by X-ray on admission; With concurrent use of lomitapide (see Interactions).
