Dosage/Direction for Use

Ascozin Adult 1-2 chewable tab once daily. Ascozin Max Adult & childn >12 yr 1 effervescent tab daily dissolved in 200 mL glass of water.

Overdosage

View Ascozin/Ascozin Max overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to ascorbic acid. Ascozin Thrombophlebitis; inclination to thrombosis; diabetes. Childn <18 yr. Ascozin Max Patients suffering from or having history of kidney stones; oxaluria; hemochromatosis; severe renal insufficiency or renal failure & on dialysis.

Special Precautions

Pregnancy & lactation. Ascozin Deficiency may occur if used over prolonged period & w/drawn too rapidly. Ascozin Max Overdose in patients suffering from glucose-6-phosphatase deficiency has been associated w/ hemolytic anemia.

Adverse Reactions

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, allergic reaction. Ascozin Heartburn, hyperexcitability, headache, uric acid formation, cysteine or oxalate concretions; anaemia may develop in patients w/ G6PD deficiency (symptoms eg, headache, tiredness, shortness of breath, jaundice). Ascozin Max GI & abdominal pain, anaphylactic reaction & shock.

Drug Interactions

Concomitant use w/ desferrioxamine. Ascozin Max Concomitant use w/ cyclosporine or warfarin. Can interfere w/ tetracyclines, quinolones, penicillamine.
