Overdosage

Symptoms and Treatment of Overdose: Vancomycin overdose may result in oliguria and acute renal function failure. Supportive care must be provided, with maintenance of glomerular filtration. Vancomycin is poorly removed by dialysis. Hemofiltration and hemoperfusion with polysulfone resin have been used to reduce elevated serum concentrations of vancomycin. Patients should be monitored for electrolytes, fluid, hearing function, hematologic status (especially platelet and white blood cell counts), renal function, and vestibular function.
