Per 1 mL Inactivated HAV 720 ELISA U adsorbed, recombinant HBsAg 20 mcg adsorbed
Indications/Uses
Non-immune adults, adolescents & childn from 1 yr at risk of both hepatitis A & B infection.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM Adult & adolescent ≥16 yr 3 primary doses at 0, 1, 6 mth (standard schedule) or 0, 7, 21 days followed by 4th dose at 12 mth (rapid schedule). Childn & adolescent 1-15 yr 2 primary doses at 0, 6-12 mth. Booster dose General guidelines can be drawn from experience w/ monovalent vaccines.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to vaccine, monovalent hepatitis A or B, neomycin or after previous inj.
Special Precautions
Anaphylactic reactions. Not to be inj intravascularly. Not for prevention against infection caused by other agents eg, hepatitis C, E & other pathogens infecting the liver. Not recommended for post-exposure prophylaxis eg, needle-stick injury. Postpone vaccination in patients w/ acute severe febrile illness. Syncope. Haemodialysis or immunocompromised patients. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache; inj site pain & redness, fatigue. GI symptoms eg, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting; inj site swelling. Adults & childn ≥16 yr: Inj site reaction, malaise. Childn 1-15 yr: Loss of appetite; irritability. Drowsiness; fever.
Drug Interactions
Adequate response may not be achieved w/ immunosuppressants. Not to be mixed w/ other vaccines in same syringe.
