XIGDUO XR is contraindicated in: Patients with severe renal impairment (eGFR below 30 mL/min/1.73 m2), end stage renal disease or patients on dialysis.
Acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis, with or without coma. Diabetic ketoacidosis should be treated with insulin.
Patients with a history of any serious hypersensitivity reaction to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Diabetic pre-coma.
Acute conditions with the potential to alter renal function such as: Dehydration; Severe infection; Shock.
Acute or chronic disease which may cause tissue hypoxia such as: Cardiac or respiratory failure; Recent myocardial infarction; Shock; Hepatic impairment; Acute alcohol intoxication, alcoholism.
XIGDUO XR should be temporarily discontinued in patients undergoing radiologic studies involving intravascular administration of iodinated contrast materials because use of such products may result in acute alteration of renal function (see Precautions).
