Oral susp: Al hydroxide, Mg hydroxide, activated dimethicone.
Ultilox: Chewable Tablet contains Al hydroxide 250 mg, Mg hydroxide 250 mg, Simethicone 50 mg.
Per 5 mL Ultilox oral susp Al hydroxide 250 mg, Mg hydroxide 250 mg, activated dimethicone 125 mg.
Ultilox Forte: Chewable Tablet contains Al hydroxide 400 mg, Mg hydroxide 400 mg, Simethicone 50 mg.
Per 5 mL Ultilox Forte oral susp Al hydroxide 400 mg, Mg hydroxide 400 mg, activated dimethicone 125 mg.
Pharmacology: The combination of Aluminum hydroxide and Magnesium hydroxide makes an antacid that acts to neutralize stomach acid and inactivated pepsin, so the pain in the pit of the stomach due to irritation by stomach acid and pepsin is reduced. In addition, the laxative effect of magnesium hydroxide will reduce the constipation effect of aluminum hydroxide. Simethicone reduces gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract and causing less bloating.
To relieve gastric disturbance due to excessive acidity, reflux oesophagitis, gastritis, flatulence, epigastric pain caused by entrapped gas.
Ultilox Chewable Tablet Adult 1-2 tab 3-4 times daily. Childn 6-12 yo ½-1 tab 3-4 times daily.
Ultilox Oral Suspension Adult 1-2 tsp to be taken 3-4 times daily. Childn 6-12 yr ½-1 tsp.
Ultilox Forte Chewable Tablet Adult 1 tab 3-4 times daily.
Ultilox Forte Suspension Adult 1 tsp. Childn 6-12 yr ½ tsp.
Taken an hour before meal or 2 hours after meal and before bed-time, the tablet should be chewed properly.
Do not give to the patient with renal impairment, it may cause hypermagnesemia.
Do not use the drug over 2 weeks, except it was prescribed by a doctor or physician.
When using another antiulcers drug such as cimetidine or tetracycline antibiotics, the drugs may be given with an interval of 1-2 hours.
Giving to children under the age of 6 is not recommended except for the doctor's guidance, since the cause of the illness is usually unclear.
Attention in administration to the patients with low phosphorus diet and long-term use, as it can reduce blood phosphorus levels.
Common adverse reactions are constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting. The symptoms will disappear if the use of the drug has been stopped.
Co-administration with Cimetidine and Tetracycline may reduce drug's absorption.
Store below 30°C.
