Panadol Children's Suspension Special Precautions

This product contains paracetamol. Taking too much paracetamol can cause serious harm to the liver. The label should always be read and followed. If symptoms persist or if the patient has been diagnosed with liver or kidney impairment, a medical advice should be sought before taking this medication.
A doctor must be informed before use if the patient: is underweight or malnourished; regularly drinks alcohol (patient may need to avoid using this product altogether or limit the amount of paracetamol to take; has a severe infection as this may increase the risk of metabolic acidosis [Signs of metabolic acidosis include deep, rapid, difficult breathing; feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting); loss of appetite].
A doctor should be contacted immediately if the patient gets a combination of these symptoms.
This medicine contains sorbitol liquid, patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance (deficiency in fructose metabolism) should not take this medicine.
This medicine should not be used if the patient is taking any other prescription or non-prescription medicines containing paracetamol to treat pain, fever, symptoms of cold and flu, or to aid sleep.
