Fentanyl Injection should not be given if the patient: is allergic (hypersensitive) to fentanyl or other opioid medicines or any of the other ingredients (listed in Description); suffers from asthma, shallow breathing or other breathing difficulties; is taking or has recently (within the last two weeks) taken Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) (see Interactions).
