Discontinue therapy if patient develops severe, persistent, &/or worsening abdominal symptoms, bloody diarrhea or rectal bleeding. Patients w/ severe & clinically unstable concomitant disease eg, CV or lung disease, neurological or psychiatric disorders, cancer or AIDS & other endocrine disorders. Patients w/ history of arrhythmias or ischaemic CV disease. May reduce efficacy of OCs in case of severe diarrhoea; use additional contraceptive method. Not to be taken by patients w/ rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Minor influence on ability to drive & use machines. Reconsider treatment in patients w/ hepatic impairment if once daily dosing is not effective after 4 wk. Women of childbearing potential must use effective contraception during treatment. Not recommended during pregnancy & in women of childbearing potential not using contraception. Lactation. Not recommended in childn & adolescents <18 yr.
