Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 5 mg once daily as monotherapy or combination therapy. Max daily dose: 5 mg.

Overdosage

View Suganon overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Serious hypersensitivity (eg, anaphylaxis or angioedema) to evogliptin or other dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) inhibitors. Type I diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Special Precautions

Discontinue treatment & not to be re-administered if pancreatitis is suspected. Discontinue if bullous pemphigoid is suspected; possible cause of severe joint pain. Not recommended in patients w/ functional NYHA class II-IV heart failure. Patients w/ functional NYHA class I heart failure; medical history of pancreatitis. Concomitant administration w/ insulin secretagogues eg, insulin or sulfonylurea. Severe hepatic impairment. Moderate to severe & end-stage renal impairment patients undergoing hemodialysis. Not recommended in pregnant women. Not to be used during lactation. Ped. Elderly.

Adverse Reactions

Nasopharyngitis, arthralgia, dyspepsia. Monotherapy: Gastritis, periodontitis, erectile dysfunction. Combination therapy w/ metformin or metformin + sitagliptin: Diarrhea. Combination therapy w/ metformin + dapagliflozin: Constipation, chronic gastritis, large intestine polyp, gastric ulcer, GERD, haemorrhoids; vag infection, herpes zoster, cystitis; myalgia, rotator cuff syndrome; ligament sprain; dizziness, headache; deafness neurosensory; HTN. Hypoglycemia, bullous pemphigoid.

Drug Interactions

Increased C_max & AUC w/ potent CYP3A4 inhibitor eg, clarithromycin. Decreased AUC w/ potent CYP3A4 inducer eg, rifampicin.
