Eperisone HCl
Indications/Uses
Muscle relaxant. Improvement of myotonic symptoms eg, in cervical syndrome, shoulder periarthritis, lumbago. Spastic paralysis caused by cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, sequela of trauma (spinal & head injury), spinal vascular disorders & other encephalomyelopathies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Muscle relaxant 1 tab tid. Spastic paralysis 1-2 tab tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if symptoms of shock (including anaphylactic shock & anaphylaxis) eg, redness, itching, urticaria, edema of face or other parts & dyspnea; SJS & TEN eg, fever, erythema, blistering, itching, ocular congestion or stomatitis occur. Discontinue treatment or reduce dose in the event of weakness, light-headedness or sleepiness. Patients w/ history of hypersensitivity. May impair ability to drive car or operate machinery. Hepatic function disorder. Pregnancy. Avoid use in nursing mothers. Discontinue breastfeeding during treatment. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Rash; sleepiness, insomnia, headache, numbness in extremities; nausea/vomiting, anorexia, stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation & thirst; weakness, lightheadedness, generalized fatigue; hot flushes. Shock & anaphylaxis reactions, SJS & Lyell syndrome.
Drug Interactions
Visual accommodation disturbance w/ concomitant methocarbamol w/ tolperizone HCl.
