Indications/Uses
Neuropathies. Treatment & prophylaxis of clinical vit B1 deficiency conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 150-450 mg daily initially over a period of 3 wk. Neuropathies caused by vit B1 deficiency Initially 1 tab bid or tid over at least 3 wk, followed w/ 1-2 tab once daily. Treatment of vit B1 deficiency 1 tab once daily or bid. Prevention of vit B1 deficiency 1 tab once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole w/ fluid.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to benfotiamine or thiamine.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use several days prior to planned surgery. Fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency. Pregnancy. Not to be used during lactation. Childn & adolescent <18 yr.
Drug Interactions
Deactivated by 5-fluorouracil. Intensified effect of muscle relaxants.
