Haloperidol

Indications/Uses

Dosage/Direction for Use

Nervousness, anxiety states & accompanying psychic disorders, psychosomatic disorders, nausea & vomiting Adult 0.5 mg bid. Childn 0.125-0.5 mg bid. Psychomotor agitation in schizophrenia, character disorders in childn Adult 2-5 mg bid. Childn >5 yr ½ adult dose.

Contraindications

Bone marrow depression.

Special Precautions

Hyperthyroidism, hepatic dysfunction, parkinsonism, CV disorders. Childn.

Adverse Reactions

Tardive dyskinesia, sedation; photosensitivity; cholestatic hepatitis, galactorrhea, dystonia, hypotension.
