Type 2 diabetes mellitus: EDISTRIDE is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus for: the treatment of diabetes as an adjunct to diet and exercise. EDISTRIDE can be given as monotherapy or in combination with other medicinal products indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (see Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: Clinical trial information - type 2 diabetes mellitus under Actions); reduce the risk of new or worsening heart failure or cardiovascular death (see Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: Clinical trial information - type 2 diabetes mellitus under Actions); reduce the risk of new or worsening nephropathy (see Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: Clinical trial information - type 2 diabetes mellitus under Actions).
Heart failure: EDISTRIDE is indicated in adults for treatment of symptomatic chronic heart failure (see Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: Clinical trial information - heart failure under Actions).
Chronic kidney disease: EDISTRIDE is indicated in adults for the treatment of chronic kidney disease (see Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: Clinical trial information - chronic kidney disease under Actions).
Limitations of Use: EDISTRIDE is not indicated for use in patients with type 1 diabetes.
EDISTRIDE should not be used for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.
