Indications/Uses

Symptomatic treatment of seasonal & perennial allergic rhinoconjunctivitis & urticaria in childn 6-11 yr at least 20 kg.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & adolescent (>12 yr) 20 mg daily. Childn 6-11 yr at least 20 kg 10 mg once daily.

Overdosage

View Bilaxten ODT overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.

Administration

Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals/fruit juice. Place in mouth to rapidly disperse then swallow. May also be dispersed in water. Do not use grapefruit juice or any other fruit juices.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

Avoid co-administration w/ P-gp inhibitors in patients w/ moderate or severe renal impairment. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Avoid use during pregnancy. Lactation. Not to be used in childn <6 yr & <20 kg.

Drug Interactions

Reduced oral bioavailability w/ food. Decreased bioavailability w/ grapefruit juice & other fruit juices. Decreased plasma conc w/ OATP1A2 substrates or inhibitors eg, ritonavir or rifampicin. Increased AUC & C_max w/ ketoconazole or erythromycin. Increased plasma conc w/ P-gp substrates or inhibitors eg, cyclosporine. Increased C_max w/ diltiazem.
