Indications/Uses
For adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, Bergliptin is indicated to improve glycaemic control.
Monotherapy: Bergliptin is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and for whom metformin is inappropriate due to contraindication or intolerance.
Combination with Metformin: Bergliptin is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control in combination with metformin as initial therapy or when the single agent alone, with diet and exercise, does not provide adequate glycaemic control.
Combination with a Sulfonylurea: Bergliptin is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control in combination with a sulfonylurea when treatment with the single agent alone, with maximal tolerated dose of sulphonylurea, with diet and exercise, does not provide adequate glycaemic control, and when metformin is inappropriate due to contraindication or intolerance.
Combination with a PPARγ agonist: Bergliptin is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control in combination with a PPARγ agonist (i.e., thiazolidones) as initial therapy or when the single agent alone, with diet and exercise, does not provide adequate glycaemic control.
Combination with Metformin and a Sulfonylurea: Bergliptin is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control in combination with metformin and a sulfonylurea when dual therapy with these agents, with diet and exercise, does not provide adequate glycaemic control.
Combination with Metformin and a PPARγ agonist: Bergliptin is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control in combination with metformin and a PPARγ agonist (i.e., thiazolidones) when dual therapy with these agents, with diet and exercise, does not provide adequate glycaemic control.
Combination with Insulin: Bergliptin is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in combination with insulin (with or without metformin).
