Special Precautions

Discontinue treatment after symptoms have resolved & reinitiate upon reappearance for seasonal allergic rhinitis. Avoid coadministration w/ P-gp inhibitors eg, ketoconazole, erythromycin, cyclosporine, ritonavir or diltiazem in patients w/ moderate or severe renal impairment. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Avoid use during pregnancy. Lactation. Not to be used in childn <6 yr weighing <20 kg. Renally & hepatically impaired childn.

Headache. Adult & adolescent: Somnolence. Paed: Rhinitis; allergic conjunctivitis; abdominal/upper abdominal pain.

Drug Interactions

Reduced oral bioavailability w/ food; grapefruit juice. Decreased plasma conc w/ OATP1A2 substrates or inhibitors eg, ritonavir or rifampicin. Increased AUC & C_max w/ ketoconazole or erythromycin. Potential to increase plasma conc w/ P-gp substrates or inhibitors eg, cyclosporine. Increased C_maxw/ diltiazem.
