Indications/Uses

AZACYTIN is indicated for treatment of patients with the following myelodysplastic syndrome subtypes: Refractory anemia; or Refractory anemia with ringed sideroblasts (RARS) (if accompanied by neutropenia or thrombocytopenia or requiring transfusions); Refractory anemia with excess blasts (RAEB); Refractory anemia with excess blasts in transformation (RAEB-T) (or acute myeloid leukemia with 20-30% bone marrow blasts and multi-lineage dysplasia, according to World Health Organization (WHO) classification, use specifically in elderly); The treatment of adult patients age 65 years or older who are not eligible for haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) with AML with > 30% marrow blasts according to the WHO classification; and Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMMoL).
