The usual starting dose for adults is 1-2 tablets (100-200 mg of zonisamide) per day, taken orally in one to three divided doses or as prescribed by the physician. The dose may be gradually increased every one to two weeks up to 2-4 tablets (200-400 mg) daily in one to three divided doses. The maximum daily dose should be 600 mg.

The dose may be gradually increased every one to two weeks up to 4-8 mg/kg daily in one to three divided doses. The maximum daily dose should be 12 mg/kg.
