Per 50 mg/12.5 mg FC tab Losartan K 50 mg, hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg
Indications/Uses
HTN not adequately controlled by losartan K or hydrochlorothiazide alone.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ renal artery stenosis; existing fluid & electrolyte imbalance. Hypotension in patients w/ vol depletion (eg, those receiving high-dose diuretic therapy). Monitor serum K conc. Regularly check skin for any new lesions & promptly report any suspicious skin lesions. Limit exposure to sunlight & UV rays. Avoid concomitant use w/ K-sparing diuretics. Reduced doses may be required in patients w/ renal impairment & should be considered in patients w/ hepatic impairment. Avoid use in patients w/ severe hepatic impairment. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Losartan: Dizziness, dose-related orthostatic hypotension; impaired renal function; hypokalaemia, myalgia; resp tract disorders, back pain, GI disturbances, fatigue, neutropenia. Hydrochlorothiazide: Metabolic disturbances especially at high doses; hyperglycemia, glycosuria in diabetic & other susceptible patients; hyperuricemia & may precipitate gout attacks.
