Vexplatin-50/Vexplatin-100 Dosage/Direction for Use

Adjuvant therapy in patients with Stage III Colon Cancer: It is recommended for a total of 6 months, i.e. 12 cycles, every 2 weeks, Day 1: Oxaliplatin 85 mg/m² IV infusion in 250 to 500 mL of 5% (50 mg/mL) glucose solution is given at the same time as leucovorin 200 mg/m² IV infusion in 5% glucose solution over 2 to 6 hours in separate bags using a Y-line.
Followed by 5-fluorouracil 400 mg/m² IV bolus given over 2-4 minutes, followed by 5-fluorouracil 600 mg/m² IV infusion in 500 mL of 5% glucose solution (recommended) as a 22-hour continuous infusion.
Day 2: Oxaliplatin 85 mg/m² IV infusion in 250 to 500 mL of 5% (50 mg/mL) glucose solution is given at the same time as leucovorin 200 mg/m² IV infusion in 5% glucose solution over 2 to 6 hours in separate bags using a Y-line.
Followed by 5-fluorouracil 400 mg/m² IV bolus given over 2-4 minutes, followed by 5-fluorouracil 600 mg/m² IV infusion in 500 mL of 5% glucose solution (recommended) as a 22-hour continuous infusion.
Advanced Colorectal Cancer: The recommended dose schedule given every two weeks as follows: Day 1: Oxaliplatin 85 mg/m² IV infusion in 250 to 500 mL of 5% (50 mg/mL) glucose solution is given at the same time as leucovorin 200 mg/m² IV infusion in 5% glucose solution over 2 to 6 hours in separate bags using a Y-line.
Followed by 5-fluorouracil 400 mg/m² IV bolus given over 2-4 minutes, followed by 5-fluorouracil 600 mg/m² IV infusion in 500 mL of 5% glucose solution (recommended) as a 22-hour continuous infusion.
Repeat cycle every 2 weeks.
The administration of Oxaliplatin does not require prehydration. Premedication with antiemetics, including 5-HT₃ blockers with or without dexamethasone is recommended.
