Overdosage

Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ARB or dihydropyridine Ca channel antagonist. History of angioedema or any other adverse effect related to previous treatment w/ ARB or Ca channel antagonist.

Special Precautions
Oliguria &/or progressive azotemia &, rarely, w/ acute renal failure &/or death in patients w/ severe congestive heart failure whose renal function may depend on the activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Correct Na &/or vol depletion (eg, patients on prolonged diuretic therapy, dietary salt restriction, dialysis, diarrhea, or vomiting) before initiating therapy. Discontinue therapy if patient develops jaundice or marked elevations of hepatic enzymes. Caution in patients w/ hepatic impairment. Should not be administered during pregnancy & lactation or to women of childbearing potential unless effective contraception is ensured. Not recommended in childn & adolescents <18 yr.

Adverse Reactions
Dizziness. Losartan K: Diarrhea, dyspepsia; muscle cramp, myalgia, back & leg pain; insomnia; nasal congestion, cough, URTI, sinus disorder, sinusitis. Amlodipine besilate: Edema, flushing, palpitation, fatigue, headache, somnolence, abdominal pain.
Drug Interactions
Losartan K: Increased AUC w/ cimetidine. Reduced AUC w/ phenobarb. Potential significant interaction w/ potent inducers of CYP3A4. May lead to increase in serum K w/ K-sparing diuretics (eg, spironolactone, triamterene, amiloride), K supplements or K-containing salt substitutes.
