Indications/Uses
It is used to reduce LDL-cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, and to increase HDL cholesterol in the management of hyperlipidaemias, including primary hypercholesterolemia (Type IIa), a mixed dyslipidaemia (Type IIb), and hypertriglyceridaemia (type IV). It may also be used in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. It is also used to reduce the progression of atherosclerosis.
