Indications/Uses

Symptomatic treatment of acute attacks of gouty arthritis.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Initially 1 mg followed by 500 mcg every 2-3 hr (max 10 mg) until relief of pain is obtained or vomiting or diarrhea occurs. The course should not be repeated w/in 3 days. Prevention of attacks during initial treatment w/ allopurinol or uricosuric drugs 500 mcg bid-tid.

Administration

Should be taken with food.

Contraindications

Cardiac, GI & renal diseases. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly & debilitated patients.
