Contents
Vitamin B-complex, buclizine HCl, iron sulfate.
Description
Each capsule contains buclizine HCl 25 mg, Fe sulfate (dried) 80 mg (equivalent to elemental iron 30 mg), nicotinamide (vit B3) 10 mg, thiamine mononitrate (vit B1) 10 mg, cyanocobalamine (vit B12) 5 mcg, riboflavin (vit B2) 1 mg, pyridoxine HCl (vit B6) 5 mg.
Indications/Uses
For all types of anorexia as seen in tuberculosis, iron-deficiency anemia, anorexia nervosa and malnutrition.
As a nutritional supplement in postoperative conditions, chronic illness, metabolic disorders and convalescence.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult: 1 cap 2 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.
To minimize side effects, start with 2 doses/day every 12 hrs.
Contraindications
The safety of buclizine in pregnancy has not been determined. Propan with Iron should not be taken simultaneously with alcohol or other CNS depressants.
Special Precautions
Propan with Iron is generally well tolerated by children and adults. Mild drowsiness may occur at the beginning of treatment which gradually disappears after 2-3 days of continuous therapy.
Occasional GI discomfort eg, nausea and diarrhea may occur with intake of iron.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant administration of tetracycline and some antacids may decrease the amount of iron absorbed, and similarly, iron may retard the absorption of tetracyclines; these products should not be taken within 2 hrs of each other.
Food reduces the absorption of iron but will lessen gastric irritation.
Storage
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light.
Shelf-Life: 24 months.
