Pantoprazole is given intravenously over 2 to 15 minutes, either as a slow injection or a short-term infusion. For peptic ulceration or gastroesophageal reflux disease, the recommended dose is 40 mg daily. A dose of 80 mg once or twice daily may be used for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome; up to 240 mg daily may be given in divided doses. Patients should be switched to oral therapy as soon as possible.
