Ketoconazole

Indications/Uses

Dermatophyte infections of the skin: Tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea manus & tinea pedis due to Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis & Epidermophyton floccosum; cutaneous candidosis & tinea (pityriasis) versicolor; seborrheic dermatitis.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Cutaneous candidosis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea manus, tinea pedis & tinea (pityriasis) versicolor Apply once daily to cover the affected & immediate surrounding area. Duration of treatment: 2-3 wk for tinea versicolor & yeast infections; 2-4 wk for tinea cruris; 3-4 wk for tinea corporis; 4-6 wk for tinea pedis. Continue treatment until a few days after disappearance of all symptoms. Seborrheic dermatitis Apply to the affected area once daily or bid. Initial duration of treatment: 2-4 wk. Apply maintenance therapy once or twice wkly.
