Per Neurobion tab Vit B1 100 mg, vit B6 200 mg, vit B12 200 mcg. Per Neurobion Forte tab Vit B1 100 mg, vit B6 100 mg, vit B12 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Neurobion Neuritis & neuralgia, especially cervical syndrome, shoulder-arm syndrome, lumbalgia, sciatica, facial paresis. Alcoholic polyneuropathy. Diabetic neuropathy, including impotence due to autonomic neuropathy. Metabolic & neuropathic changes due to pregnancy & OCs. Nausea & vomiting of pregnancy. Drug-induced neuropathies. Supplemental therapy following major surgery or debilitating illness. Neurobion Forte Diabetic neuropathy; neuralgias & neuritis, algias of rheumatic & traumatic origin; degenerative conditions of the spine or surgical operations carried out thereon, herpes zoster, hemicrania & facial paresis; nausea & vomiting of pregnancy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Neurobion 1 tab once daily to tid. Neurobion Forte 2-4 tab in divided doses/day.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take w/ or after meals. Swallow tab whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Regularly monitor for neuropathies under long-term treatment. High doses of vit B6 (>600 mg daily) may inhibit production of breast milk. Not recommended in patients w/ galactose or fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, Lapp lactase deficiency, or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions eg, sweating, tachycardia, & skin reactions w/ itching & urticaria; GI complaints eg, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea & abdominal pain; chromaturia.
Drug Interactions
Vit B6 may decrease effect of levodopa. Efficacy of vit B6 may be decreased w/ pyridoxine antagonists eg, INH, cycloserine, penicillamine, or hydralazine. Elimination of vit B1 may be accelerated & thus serum levels decreased w/ long-term use of loop diuretics eg, furosemide. May lead to vit B12 deficiency w/ long-term use of acid-lowering agents.
