Overdosage

Acute overdosing with doxorubicin hydrochloride worsens the toxic effects of mucositis, leukopaenia and thrombocytopaenia. Treatment of acute overdose of the severely myelosuppressed patient consists of hospitalization, antibiotics, platelet and granulocyte transfusions and symptomatic treatment of mucositis.
