Indications/Uses

Indicated in adults & childn as topical agent active against organisms responsible for majority of skin infections eg, Staph aureus including methicillin-resistant strains, other staphylococci, strep & gm -ve organisms eg, E. coli & H. influenzae; for skin infections eg, impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis.

Adult (including elderly) & childn Apply to affected area up to tid for up to 10 days.

Special Precautions

Discontinue use if possible sensitisation reaction or severe local irritation occurs; prolonged or significant diarrhoea occurs or abdominal cramps are experienced. Not to be used in conditions where absorption of large quantities of polyethylene glycol is possible especially if there is evidence of moderate or severe renal impairment. Not suitable in conjunction w/ cannulae & at site of central venous cannulation. Avoid contact w/ eyes. Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms. Pseudomembranous colitis. Moderate or severe renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
