Per cap Pizotifen hydrogen maleate 500 mcg, thiamine mononitrate (vit B1) 3 mg, riboflavin phosphate (vit B2) 3.2 mg, pyridoxine HCl (vit B6) 2.4 mg, nicotinamide 19 mg. Per 5 mL syr Pizotifen hydrogen maleate 250 mcg, thiamine HCl (vit B1) 700 mcg, riboflavin phosphate (vit B2) 1.14 mg, pyridoxine HCl (vit B6) 700 mcg, nicotinamide 5 mg
Indications/Uses
Anorexia of somatic or psychogenic origin in underwt patients, in whom prevention of vit B deficiency secondary to impaired dietary intake or absorption (eg, as a consequence of antibiotics or other drug therapy interfering w/ absorption or utilization of B-group vit) is indicated.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap Adult Initially 1 cap daily, progressively increased to 1 cap tid. Syr Adult Initially 10 mL daily, progressively increased up to 10 mL tid. Childn Small initial dose should be gradually increased to an ave maintenance dose of 0.025 mg/kg daily, 2-6 yr 10-20 mL daily in 2 or 3 divided doses.

Overdosage

Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals to reduce GI discomfort.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Not to be given to childn <1 yr.

Special Precautions
Patients w/ narrow-angle glaucoma (except those successfully treated by surgery) or urinary retention (eg, prostatic enlargement). May slow reactions when driving vehicles & operating machinery. Should be administered in pregnancy only under compelling circumstances. Not recommended in nursing mothers.

Adverse Reactions
Sedation. More rarely, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea & constipation. Childn: CNS stimulation.
Drug Interactions
May enhance central effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines including certain common cold prep, & alcohol.
