Peripheral neuropathy, dementia, alcoholic neuropathy, drug-induced neuropathy, trigeminal & occupational neuralgia, Parkinson's disease, Bell's palsy, megaloblastic anemia, cancer, male impotence, hyperhomocysteinemia, sleep disturbances.

1 tab once daily or bid.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Special Precautions

Doses >10 mcg daily may produce a hematological response in those w/ anemia secondary to folate deficiency. Pregnancy & lactation.

Anaphylactic reaction eg, decreased BP or dyspnea.

Drug Interactions

Decreased absorption w/ antibiotics, proton pump inhibitors (chronic use), colchicine, H₂-blockers, metformin, para-amino salicylic acid, KCl. May produce functional deficiency w/ nitrous oxide. Decreased enterohepatic reabsorption w/ cholestyramine, colestipol.
